C-frame hydraulic press OPI.C 80 with energy-saving and recovery system

The solution ENERGY RECOVERY presented at the exhibition by OMERA and applied to the press OPI.C 80 consists in an independent motor-pump unit complete with a servomotor and a fixed displacement pump with high dynamic to manage the blank-holder.
As well-known, in a traditional hydraulic press for deep-drawing, the energy dissipated by the blank-holder cushion is totally converted into heat and it represents the greatest quote of energy dissipated by the machine.
With the solution ENERGY RECOVERY, designed by OMERA, it is possible to recover 90% net of this energy otherwise wasted.
The regained hydraulic energy is converted into electric energy and is instantly put at disposal of the slide main motor, involving a lower absorption of electricity from the network.
This is an interesting solution that, apart from the type of pump installed, does not differ from OMERA’s range of hydraulic plants managed by servomotor. Another advantage of this system is that it helps to reduce the needs related to the machine’s cooling system.
The solution ENERGY SAVING, thanks to the application of brushless motors or of a pump management system with inverter, integrates the following functions:
Start-Stop of the motor, during the loading/unloading cycle, allowing for energy saving while the machine is not working.
Soft-Start, for a soft start/stop of the motor, obtaining a reduction of current overloads on the company electricity network.
The customer can immediately verify the quantity of electricity consumed thanks to the electric power measure and monitoring device integrated in the electric cabinet of the machine. This system developed by OMERA allows the monitoring and precise analysis of energy consumption through a dedicated Software page in the operator panel.
